Backstage | MMM ‘Artisanal’ Haute Couture '13


A surprisingly feminine Haute Couture runway by Maison Martin Margiela. 


When I think of MMM and HC together, I think over the top fashion-art that stretches my definition of what fashion is\could be. However for 2013 we have been given fashion + art in some of the most beautiful forms. Each look has heavy embroidery and embellishments that take influences from Chinese art. 

To keep this collection in sync with the previous one, there has been a continued use of the face masks crystallized by many sequins and beads and for the looks that are powered by the floral designs, there are also masks which are the base for the 3D sequinned flowers. 

Personally I'm not so sure how appropriate it would be to walk around with a mask over my face, but the dresses, I'm all for it!
